Find the real problem.
Turn customer context into a clear technical mission.
We connect ambitious teams with forward deployed engineers
who turn customer problems into shipped solutions.
Turn customer context into a clear technical mission.
One hire. A whole new connection between.
Some problems need more than a handoff.
They need someone who can understand it, build it, and see it through.
Engineers who write production code, navigate complex systems, and build beyond the demo.
The judgment to ask better questions, find the real problem, and bring people along.
From the first discovery call to the details of deployment. One person who connects the dots.
Customer context travels straight into the product, so your team builds with a clearer picture.
The best way forward
is a person who
gets both sides.
FDE is a specific kind of role. Your search should be just as specific. We start with the work, then find the person built for it.
Your product, your customers, your stack, and the problem this person will own.
A relevant shortlist, with context on how each engineer approaches your kind of challenge.
Choose the engineer who fits your team, your customers, and the way you want to build.
A promising pilot. A complex integration. A customer whose needs don't fit the roadmap. This is where an FDE can make the difference.
Start with the problem. We'll help shape the role.Turn a model or platform into something a customer can actually use in their workflow.
Connect APIs, data, and systems to solve the last mile between your product and its users.
Give customer teams a technical partner who can solve the problem and feed the learning back.
A forward deployed engineer works directly with customers to understand a problem and build the technical solution. The role combines hands on software engineering with discovery, communication, and ownership of the deployment.
Both build software. An FDE also spends substantial time in the customer's context, translating a specific need into working software and staying close through implementation. Titles vary, so we define the role around the actual work.
There can be overlap. Sales and solutions engineers often focus on technical evaluation and product fit. An FDE typically goes deeper into building and deploying the solution. The right scope depends on your product and customer journey.
Consider an FDE when customer deployments require substantial engineering, pilots stall between a demo and production, or your core engineers are repeatedly pulled into customer specific work. A clear mission matters more than a particular company stage.
The search centers on engineering depth, customer communication, comfort with ambiguity, and evidence of ownership. The specific stack and experience should follow your brief, rather than a generic FDE checklist.
Start with “Find your engineer” and outline your company, the work, and the skills you need. You can create a concise hiring brief to use in your first conversation. Search scope, timing, and commercial terms are agreed separately.
Someone who sees the problem.
And knows how to build what comes next.
